Quote:
When they were finished eating she got up and said, "Now, here, take this ten dollars and buy yourself some blue suede shoes. And next time, do not make the mistake of latching onto my pocketbook nor nobody else’s—because shoes come by devilish like that will burn your feet. I got to get my rest now. But I wish you would behave yourself, son, from here on in."
I believe this quote is very important because of many reasons. First of all, it shows how Mrs. Jones character reacts to the situation of the boy taking her pocketbook. I also think it is important because it shows that her character is caring for the boy. She gave him 10 dollars for shoes which is very kind and not what any other old woman would of done if a boy was trying to steal her pocketbook. The last reason I think this quote is important is because in this quote it shows the theme of the story. People aren't always who they seem to be so don't judge people on who you think they are. This quote obviously shows this by if this woman was a normal person, she would of called the cops right away, but she didn't she went home and cared for him. That shows that she isn't who she seemed to be. I think this quote is a very good quote and explain a lot.
I love how you put the quote before you wrote what you think about it. One thing you could change is the "I believe" part. But overall it was well written.
