Authors Note: This is a letter written to Casey from a fan. This fan is ashamed of Casey’s last game.
Dear Casey,
Hi! My name is Kaitlin Bates and I am a fan of you and your baseball skills. I went to your last baseball game and I was really disappointed. At first I thought you were a really good baseball player and that you could do anything. Now I’m not so sure.
See, the conflict was obliviously that you were way too arrogant. You thought you were the “big man” and could do whatever you pleased. You thought you were “too cool” to hit that ball. You really weren’t. Also, from your recent playing time people have known you to be a wonderful and fantastic baseball player. You didn’t show them that.
Your arrogance clearly caused a huge problem. Your conflict resulted in you not hitting the ball. It also resulted in your team not winning the game. You could be kicked off the team because of that one game and one mistake. Think about what your teammates think about you. They probably think that you are a big jerk. I know that’s harsh but it’s the truth! Also, think of what would have happened if you actually would have hit that ball. You could have hit a homerun and scored a bunch of points for your team. You could have won the game for your team and been a hero. But your arrogance took control of you and resulted in a horrible conclusion. I was very ashamed.
Now Casey, I know this is a very harsh letter but you need to see what you have done. There will always be consequences to your actions; even as serious as getting kicked off the team. Believe it or not, that’s how the world works. Try to work on your flaws. Maybe you will resolve them, and go back to being a wonderful baseball player. For now, though, just work on your arrogant manor and things will always get better!
Sincerely,
Kaitlin Bates
