Here They Come Again

Authors note: This is a piece about why I predict that Johnny from the Outsiders will get beat up again. I explain why I think this with 3 main reasons. This is a prediction piece.

                Imagine living in a town where there were fights, deaths, and the police were called every ten seconds because of these two “groups” . The Greasers and the Socs. They are enemies and will always be. The Socs are wealthy, well dressed, stuck-up people who think they over rule the greasers, who are, as you say “a bunch of hoods”.  The greasers, although, will fight back if Socs come after them. Exactly like this boy Johnny tried to do, in The Outsiders. He fought back and for that reason he has some trouble on his hands. This is why I predict Johnny will get beat up again and because of many more reasons.

                First of all, I believe that Johnny will get beat up again because he already got beat up once. The Socs now know what they can do to him and how much he can take. They know that they have already beaten him up really hard once and that Johnny will be scared of the Socs for the rest of his life. When the greasers found him, he was in a dark alley cradled in a ball and crying. The greasers were shocked, they’ve never seen anyone get beat up that bad before. The Socs beaten him up so badly, it changed the way he looked at the world, literally; his face was torn up after the fight.

                Although, Johnny getting beat up once is a huge reason why I except him to get beat up again, Johnny being an easy target is also an excellent reason. Johnny as you say looks like a wet, little black puppy dog that’s gotten beat up too many times. Because of his looks it makes him an easier target. He’s one of the youngest in the Greasers; therefore no one really picks on him, except for the Socs. He’s the quietest and doesn’t really speak his mind a lot. If another greaser like Darry or Sodapop attempted to get beat up by the Socs, it wouldn’t happen. They’re too big and strong for that to occur.  But of course it would happen to small and weak, Johnny.

                While Johnny being an easy target is a big reason why he will get beat up again, I think him killing one of Socs is the biggest reason. Johnny did kill a Soc. More specifically, the “head” Soc, Bob. He killed him because he and his friends were drowning Ponyboy so he used his knife for self-defense. Johnny didn’t want to kill him, but he did. If you were from the Socs point of view, Johnny killing Bob is an obvious reason why he should get beat up again. Johnny probably knows that too. He will probably get beat up even harder though since it would be the second time the Socs would hurt him.

                As you can see there are a lot of reasons why I picture Johnny getting beat up again. He already got beaten up once, he’s such an easy target thanks to his looks and personality, and he killed a Soc. Johnny although is a very good kid, and does not deserve to get beat up. Hopefully he doesn’t and story goes on without any fights. I guess we’ll  have to read to find out!
