Wow! The ending of The Pearl is not what I excepted it to be. I thought Kino and Juana would go to the capital and sell the pearl and everything would be okay but that wasn't the case at all. I am a little confused though on how the baby died. Did Kino shoot him with the rifle? Anyway, I'm glad Kino finally came to his senses and threw that disgusted pearl in the sea once again. It gave them bad luck alright and a lot of it. Overall, The Pearl was a good book to read. It wasn't one of my favorites though because of the ending and sometimes it gets boring but it was okay. I very much disliked the ending though. I also think the HUGE lesson learned was never be so attached to something that you do things that you normally wouldn't do. For example, Kino. He got so attached to the pearl his baby died because of it, he beat up his wife and so many other things. That is just horrible! :(
